Franconia is one of Germany’s most traditional asparagus-growing regions: its sandy soils and mild climate provide ideal conditions for particularly delicate, aromatic white asparagus.

Depending on the weather, the season begins in April and traditionally ends on June 24, St. John’s Day—a short period that you should definitely make the most of.
